Today I sit down and talk with Dr. Robb Kelly! An Addiction Recovery Expert and Coach who went through his own massive struggles with alcoholism and through his recovery has turned with life completely around. Today he shares one of the craziest stories I've heard on the podcast yet!
Today we have Dr. Robb Kelly on the show, an addiction recovery coach who has gone through his own journey with alcoholism which took him form a relatively happy life with his wife and kids, good job, exc. to living homeless on the streets of Manchester in the U.K. fighting just to stay alive.
Dr. Robb Kelly talks about his backstory in the beginning of our show and shares one of the craziest stories I've ever heard which involves how he ended up homeless for 14 months in Manchester.
After that we talk about the differences between alcoholism and addiction; and how there are biological changes in the brain when you are an alcoholic and or if your parents were alcoholics. This means that 3 key areas of the brain are formed differently and this causes alcohol to effect an alcoholic much different than someone who just has addictions.
Addictions are the result of addictive behaviors and creating a loop of habits that lead you to the addictions you are taking. A lot of this stems from childhood traumas that occur at a young age and this is something we also dove into heavily!!
When I say this was one of the most interesting interviews I've ever done I'm not lying! I hope you all enjoy this episode as much as I did!
